#ThisIsOurShot leader Dr. Asha Shajahan recently wrote a piece on overcoming vaccine hesitancy in the Detroit Free Press:
“The bottom line is that all three of these vaccines are critically important. They all will keep their recipients from getting severely ill, being hospitalized or dying from COVID. The least effective vaccine is the one that is never given.
The fewer people vaccinated, the more new variants can take hold and spread. The more variants that occur, the more boosters could be needed in the future and the more difficult COVID-19 will be to contain. Turning down vaccines — especially while supplies are low — undermines our shared goal of a COVID-free world.”
